The inscription service is great - it's lovely to be able to personalise the gifts. Lawrence was very helpful and quick to respond, and enormously flexible too. Definitely recommended.

The compass Lawrence sent was not the same as the one he advertises on Etsy. The engraving was seriously poor; very faint on the top, very shaky and blurred in the inside. It is almost illegible. Originally, I paid £37 to have the compass engraved on the top. Lawrence said I would need to split the text between top and inside. He asked for £15 extra (total £52) to do this and to send it next day delivery. It arrived 4 days later by ordinary 1st class post and looks bad. Instead of apologising, he sent me a rude and aggressive message saying it was the same as on the website and had been engraved by someone who has been engraving for over 50 years (which would make him around 70). He will not redo it. I’m really surprised and disappointed especially because all the other reviews are so enthusiastic. It doesn’t make sense.
